One day I asked you,
"Why do you love me?"
You smiled and stared at the sunset,
And didn't speak a word.
You didn't tell me it was for my body,
Or for my brains.
You didn't tell me it was for my smile,
Or for my funny jokes.
You just held my hand gently in yours,
And put your lips next to my ear.
"You shouldn't have to ask,
I shouldn't have to explain."
And before I could utter a simple word,
Your lips were upon mine.
All my worries vanished away,
Because I knew right then why.
