Eyara's Lament

In a Faerie kingdom so far away
Lived a Faerie Queen who's mind would stray
She was still a young woman with fantasies wild
And blessed with the imagination of a child
Every day by her favourite tree
She would rest her head upon her knee's
She would dream of things both scary and fantastic
And secretly some that were romantic
In her heart she did know
Her imagination was a place she could not go
Her mind was filled with wondrous things
Pink rivers, Giant flowers and animals that sing
But at the end of it all she accepted reality
And let go of the things that she knew that cannot be
Eventually she had herself a beautiful family
Three princesses whose beauty could cause insanity
Layanna, Keela and Elloria
Her most favourite things she thought were glorious
She loved them all with all her heart
Her King even more, their love would never part
On a bright sunny day she went for a walk round her kingdom
Greeting the fine Faerie folk who resided within
Her travels took her to the forest of enchantment
A wondrous place from the very first embankment
Full of history from long ago
Full of glorious tales untold
Structures and buildings their purpose unknown
Decrepit and decayed and overgrown
Whilst walking through and lost in thought
A trap was sprung, her foot was caught
Out from the trees hidden in the leaves
Sprung forth a group of evil thieves
They struck her down to the ground with such immense force
One spoke up his voice was hoarse
"Just stay down hand over anything of value"
In fear she complied it was all that she could do
But the assault didn't stop and they pulled out a knife
She cowered in fear, afraid of losing her life
They sliced at the back of her pretty faerie dress
Hacked off her wings and groped at her breasts
One lowered his breaches and climbed on top of her
She screamed out for help but the other quickly silenced her
After the ordeal she tried to escape further attack
But suddenly felt the knife tear into her back
They help her up and kept stabbing her, much to her dismay
She slowly felt her life slipping away
The blood slowly oozed from each separate wound
She knew she would die, and it would be soon
They all ran off laughing, and left her for dead
They nightmarish attack replaying in her head
She thought of her daughters as her life slipped away
She would miss them grow up and cry, laugh and play
Her body gave in and quickly she died
Her soul instantly travelled to the fabled "other side"
There she would grow powerful, driven by rage
Biding her time and counting the days
She thought of her family often, which made her upset
A rush of terrible feelings and she could never forget
She hoped with all hope that her daughters would be safe
She wished they would never experience a similar fate
As she forever resides in the unknown "other side"
Her youngest daughter dreams the same dreams that once clouded her mind
She longs to brave the locked forest a feat of an epic scale
And write the ending to her own Faerie-Tale
